6th Annual WMRS, Browns Owens River Camp (7-31-10)

7/31/2010
ADVrider meetup at Browns Owens River Camp
Glass Mtn Traverse - a 99.9 mile loop on Sat (Browns to June Lake and Back). We started at 9:30am and headed up and over the Glass Mountains through beautiful meadows of yellow and purple wildflowers in nice cool weather.

With a topped off stock tank on the "one-fitty", lets see how far this bike can take me...

With a combination of rocks, single track, and sandy hill climbs the boys were pretty easy  on me.

35 miles in....AHHHHH break time! Finally, and there's no better place to stop than a beautiful meadow.

Here the boys are probably contemplating which sandy nasty single track hill climb to take me on next! haha j/k

The XR 400 leading the way through some nice tight single track. fun! fun! fun!

Looks like some nice EASY single track through some aspens right?

NOT! I was attacked by flying pine cones I swear!

After lunch break at the June Lake Junction we crossed over to hit some more sandy whooped out single track and of course my favorite...

water crossings! Takin' the one-fitty out for a good washin'!

Finished up the ride with probably the most boring road in Mammoth Lakes, a torturous long bail out back to camp.  Who's thirsty?

ADV rider comes by camp before even changing out his gear to say thanks for an awesome ride! Nice work Mammoth MC!

Thanks to Ronda for the awesome showers and coffee, Robin for the cupcake and lemon drops, and all the ADV riders that watched over little Chimmy while we were out!

Oh yea, the one-fitty never ran out of gas and didn't even need to go into reserve. Next test...120 miles?
